Transparency International Romania is proud to welcome you to the official website of the International Conference „Integrity in Business: Key for sustainable and long term profitability” which will be held between the 27th and 29th of November 2013.
The conference will be divided into two major components: international and national. Therefore, on the 28th and 29th of November, debates will be held on why companies should get serious about integrity and enrol together with their stakeholders to work jointly towards a shared vision of integrity. During the conference you will be offered examples of challenges and potential solutions in promoting integrity as a premise for social responsibility and sustainable development, as well as building the necessary organizing support systems for a culture of integrity in business and beyond.
During the conference representatives from government and international institutions, experts in academia, practice and policy will hold speeches in order to share their experience as well as to foster a climate of sharing experience under a common view. The result of our discussions will be the launch of the Business Integrity Charter as a collective initiative of the Business Integrity Centre.
The third and final day of the conference, representing the national component of the event, will be divided into working groups belonging to different structures of the state, such as civil society, academia, business sector or public administration in order to debate vulnerabilities to corruption, issues of integrity and transparency within their sectors in order to look for solutions and set the next steps for the Centre, thus ensuring its sustainability in the years to follow.
During this event Transparency International Romania will launch the Pact for Integrity and Transparency in Business in Romania, a document whose framework was set during a roundtable discussion on the 11th of July held with top Romanian companies on issues of integrity, transparency and conformity. The reason for which Transparency International Romania started this project and came up with the Pact for Integrity and Transparency within the Romanian business sector was that it wanted to help develop a culture of integrity and transparency within the Romanian business sector.
